Well the rumors are true...Hyder Graphics is moving!

Moving to a stand a long building has been part of the dream and the business plan for Hyder Graphics since the very beginning. When we opened in June of 2006, we looked at our empty 3,500 square foot space and thought it would take us at least 7 or 8 years to fill it all up. Well our fifth year anniversary is just around the corner and it is hard to believe that we are now looking at filling up 11,500 sq. feet!

The plan to move has been in the making for just over a year now but we did not start aggressively looking for a space until the end of last year. After touring through several poorly kept spaces, we stumbled across this jewel of a building off 72nd Ave in Tigard and the pieces began to fall together. We have been working hard for the last couple of weeks to get it ready and we are almost there! 

We will be open for business in our new space beginning April 1, 2011. Come by and see us any time. We would love to give you a tour!!

that's whats up

Hello world! Long time, no blog... at least I'm here now right?!

Well there are big things happening at HG and we are SOO excited to share them with all of you as we take each step forward. We are constantly looking for ways to move forward, evolve and grow but we don't want to only grow in size but to also grow in techniques, capacity and most importantly, quality. The last 4 years we've worked hard to improve our workflow and quality and really get a handle on what we do best, screen printing. We feel really good about the screen printed product we are putting out there and now it is time to take a step forward in techniques.

Over this past summer we added embroidery to our in-house production by purchasing a used 3 head machine just to get us started and get us started it certainly did! We could hardly get it plugged in before orders were rolling in!  We quickly learned it is very difficult to turn a profit in embroidery when you can only run 3 garments at a time...not efficient! So what's the solution? More embroidery heads of course!

However, there is one problem with adding more machines, there isn't enough room...

Oh yeah, that's right! We are moving up in this techy world of ours and now we have our very own blog...yikes!

As we continue to expand our knowledge in this new adventure (of blogging) we are going to try our best to keep our site current with what's new and the fun stuff we are up to. We will be adding pictures and news updates and we welcome comments, suggestions and perhaps a few kudos too??? 

Although our attempts to keep our site current so far has left much to be desired we are determined to be better. Unfortunately, business occasionally gets in the way of...well... business. So here's to blogging and here's to time for blogging! Cheers!
